I’ve been drawing on post-its lately. Their bite-sized format and intended discard-ability makes it more approachable and less intimidating to play with new ideas.

The way a question mark could flow it’s way into an exclamation point landed with me.

I decided to start with the biggest piece first - the question mark - settling into my questions, trying to love them, getting comfortable with the unanswered.

As with most projects, I try to get a draft up on the wall as soon as possible, to start to envision it in my space, to get an idea for scale, and make sure I love it. This gives me more motivation to continue through the lengthy refinement and finishing process, and makes it easier to push through decision fatigue. Where’s my Lego building booklet?

My antithesis to a stop sign. My reminder to keep going.

I wanted the face of the work to be very neutral - taupe with a hint of mauve - but make the outermost edges, the gradual path, unmistakably vibrant, hopeful, guided, propelling.
