Today is the final day to order Mione scarves to arrive in time for the holidays! Each silk scarf comes wrapped in my NEW custom gift box, and includes a handwritten card.

I didn’t realize I’d be revisiting so many past conversations, the ones I shared privately with pen, paper and myself. Embarking on an unintended cathartic journey as I turned the pages of old journals, some with a history of more than 10 years. Reliving pivotal events minutes before I tore pages from spines. Before I would cut them into fluttering outlines, mold them, shape them, glue them, adorn them with colorful flourishes. Their hold, their grasp suddenly less heavy, as they took new form with humble prominence. Their wings gently weighted with the written transformations of confusion to clarity. Their bodies substantiated with circumstances created into meaning. Their adjusted course towards positivity, light, love and hope - after venturing far from truth. Their path towards confidence in emergence despite challenges. Because of challenges. Their journey towards belief in abundance, away from fear of scarcity. The meticulous markings upon their wings - the penmanship and words within - slowly opening as years passed; looser and more free, less constricted, less structured. The color of their unique ornaments molting from blue to black, timid to bold. The questions they asked, the answers they sought from a kaleidoscope of others before they learned to hear within. A body, a mind once made of black and white, now emboldened by color. A dynamic core fueling a path - at first in reverse flight, to review, to reframe, to find what holds truth and meaning before vibrantly seeking forward.

Adorned with the dried paint remnants from my used jars of paint, collected over the past six years. This artwork was intended to be a neutral piece, filled only with the creamy whites of my notebooks and inky blues and blacks of my pen. It quickly and fortuitously transformed to my most colorful painting yet - the amount of colors used for the butterfly bodies greatly outnumbering any piece created to date! |

My name is Mione (pronounced “me-yon”, similar to “neon”) Plant and I'm an artist, visual storyteller, and formerly an engineer for 10 years. My pursuit to follow my curiosities and creativity has joyfully led me to painting.
I draw inspiration from my joys of childhood, my son's childhood, and even a child-like perspective as an adult. I use whimsical imagery to convey my journey, along with gentle and approachable reminders to myself, to continually return to my center, to my truth, to choose hope over fear.
In each painting, I love to create beautifully mathematical combinations - celebrating my path from engineer to artist by mixing right brain with left, playfulness with precision, joy with geometry, whimsy with substance.
I hope to bring joy through my artwork, but maybe even more importantly, to bring connection, to acknowledge our shared journey. The trials we experience and the beauty and magic of overcoming them; of facing fears and coming out on the other side; of pausing, stopping, slowing down to recognize beauty and magic all around us.
